I am a first year Ph.D. student at the DEEM Lab at BIFOLD and TU Berlin, supervised by Prof. Sebastian Schelter and Dr. Arnab Phani.
My research focuses on Machine Unlearning in end-to-end ML pipelines, with an emphasis on data preparation pipelines. I am currently working on automating system-wide and end-to-end unlearning in complex and real-world systems, relying on provenance tracking, deletion propagation, and feature stores.
I obtained a Master’s degree in Computer Science from the University of Amsterdam and Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (joint degree) in 2025, graduating cum laude with a thesis on Machine Unlearning.
Prior to that, I earned a Bachelor’s in Computer Engineering from the University of Bologna in 2023.
During my studies I also gained industry experience through internships in industry, working as an Analyst Developer at Barclays, Product Manager at About You and as Software Engineer at Modulize.
My area of research is Machine Unlearning for end-to-end ML pipelines with a focus on unlearning in the data preparation portion of the pipelines, an often disregarded, but fundamental section of ML pipelines.
During my Ph.D. I will conduct fundamental research at the intersection of data engineering and ML.
April 7th, 2026 - 📊 Poster session: I presented a poster about my upcoming paper during the BIFOLD Data Systems Retreat poster session.
October 1st, 2025 - 🏫 Ph.D. begins: I am happy to announce that I’ve just started my Ph.D path, under the suprvision of Prof. Sebastian Schelter at the Berlin Institute for the Foundations of Learning and Data (BIFOLD) in DEEM Lab. Here my research will stem from my master’s thesis work and focus on, but not be limited to: Machine Unlearning, Data Engineering and ML systems.
August 28th, 2025 - 🎓 Graduation: I graduated from my MSc in CS (Big Data Engineering track) at UvA and VU Amsterdam! I graduated cum laude with a thesis on Machine Unlearning. Special thanks to my supervisors: Prof. Sebastian Schelter, Dr. Arnab Phani, Dr. Stefan Grafberger and Prof. Paul Groth. Very nice!
